Thanks, Barry
All Association members owe Barry Bevec a high-five for his efforts to keep them
informed over the years. As many of you know, Barry found time to put out a newsletter
while juggling his regular duties in the pro shop, keeping tabs on the association’s
membership, teaching and his special interest, Junior Golf. That's no small feat in
anybody’s book.

Handicap Adjustment

As of February l9th, adjustments for exceptional scores will be as follows:
When playing from the white tees, a net 66 or 65 will be a two stroke reduction,
a net 64 or 63 will be a three stroke reduction and a net 62 or lower will be a
four stroke reduction. When playing from the blue tees, a net 68 or 67 will be
a two-stroke reduction, a net 66 or 65 will be a three-stroke reduction and a net
64 or lower will be a four-stroke reduction. Any reductions made will be for three
months, and reduced handicaps will be used for tournament play only. These changes
were developed by Board members Peter Barnett and Terry Kennealy, and are part of
the Board’s continuing efforts to make our tournaments as competitive as possible.

Newsletter Goes On Line

This newsletter, and all future newsletters, will be available on www.ccmga.net,
and will be available via e-mail to all members who have registered their addresses
with our web site directory. With the April newsletter, a printed copy will be put
up on the bulletin board, and a few will be available in the pro shop. Plans are
being made to ensure that all members who do not have computers will receive printed
entry blanks for all remaining 2002 tournaments.

New Flags Coming
Thanks to efforts by Greens Committee member, Don Henkel, all our greens will soon
be sporting new flags. Part of your association’s efforts to help with course
improvements when possible, they will be red, white and blue and should be easier
to spot from a distance than the present ones. Let us know what you think.

Beat the Heat
Mark your calendars now for a two-man best ball at Prescott CC on Saturday, August 3rd.
Entry fee: $50. Field limited to 40 teams. Ten stroke differential. More details in

Loose Impediments
The 150 yard pole on number one has been re-lasered, and is now, I’m told, 150 yards
from the approximate center of number one green. Keep in mind that it is a double green
and difficult to measure precisely.

...When you’re in the pro shop don’t forget to pick up a wallet-sized card carrying
the tournament schedule and the 2002 Board roster so you’ll know where to take your
gripes. Speaking of gripes, I have a suggestion for all those members who are using
the web-site Forum to air their complaints. To get something done about them,
button-hole a Board member or run for a seat on the Board in November
