IN MEMORIUM
CCMGA extends its sympathy and prayers to the family and friends
of member Tony Vaughn who passed away on December 30.
A long time member of our association who truly loved the game of
golf, Tony will be missed by all.
Those wishing to pay their last respects to Tony may do so at the
viewing which will be held on Wednesday, January 4 between 6:00
and 8:00 PM at the LDS Church at 15016 N. 39th Ave. His funeral
will be held at the church on January 5 at 11:00 AM.
GET INVOLVED
There's a lot to do in keeping CCMGA running smoothly, and volunteer
help is always welcome. Have an interest in one of our committees?
Just call the chairman. He'll be happy to hear from you. Have an
idea you feel will make us a better association? Buttonhole any board
member or E-mail one through "Go Direct" on our website, ccmga.net.
Would like to attend a board meeting? You are welcome to sit in.
Regular meetings are held on Wednesday evenings following a tournament.
Please contact the executive secretary at ogbadger@aol.comfor time
and place.
REFLECTIONS ON 2005
Participation in our tournaments was excellent. The RAZZ prospered,
Volunteers turned out when needed. And YOU made it happen.
On behalf of the 2005 Board, our thanks for your support of our
efforts to continue CCMGA's growth and progress.
Kudos' are due, too, to the Cave Creek staff for their continued
cooperation and support.
Ken Kerner, President 2005
OUTLOOK FOR 2006
Keep the momentum going. That's the first order of business for
the 2006 Board.
We will be looking at ways to make our tournaments attractive to
members at all handicap levels. Special events will offer a change
of pace whenever possible. And we'll be seeking your help in
growing our membership.
We welcome your suggestions on any of the above topics. And stay
tuned for more specifics as the year progresses.
Gary Van Slyke, President, 2006
RAZZ GOES ELECTRONIC
Beginning January 4, the RAZZ will be administered by the Pro Shop.
This move will allow us to take advantage of the city's new
electronic capabilities for scoring and results posting.
As with any start-up, there may be a glitch or two in the beginning,
and we ask your patience until they are ironed out.
Dick Higgins, RAZZ Committee Chairman, will monitor the changeover
for us.
CCMGA IS THE PLACE TO BE...
You joined CCMGA for a variety of reasons. Perhaps it was because
our tournaments are well run and offer a variety of formats. Maybe
the RAZZ is your thing. Could be a friend sold you on his
experiences. Or it could be our dues were a bargain at $70 for
the year, and we have no assessments.
Whatever your reasons, they are the best selling tools we have.
We invite you to use them in recruiting new members along with
other benefits listed below.
*Membership in the Arizona Golf Association which gives an
official USGA handicap and a free quarterly magazine.
*A quarterly newsletter and E-mail updates throughout the year.
*Access to our website, ccmga.net, where you will find tournament
results and entry forms, member's directory, members forum,
world wide golf news and links to other golf websites.
*An annual banquet at no extra cost.
*The fellowship of other golfers with like interests.
