GET THE INSIDE STORY

The board welcomes volunteers for full or part-time duty with
any committee. If you are interested in future board service,
or just want to help CCMGA serve its members, volunteer
committee service is the way to go. To sign up, contact the
chairman of the committee of your choice.

LOOKING BACK

On behalf of the 2004 Board, our thanks to every member for their
support, participation in our tournaments and the RAZZ along with
your volunteer service. Collectively, we helped establish CCMGA
as one of the Valley’s leading golf associations
.
Don Chambers, President, 2004

LOOKING AHEAD

We’ve got some good momentum going. Our final tournament of the
year had a full field, and a waiting list.

With your help, your 2005 Board plans to build on that momentum
in every way it can. And we will keep you posted on the specifics in
the months ahead.

In the meantime, don’t be bashful about passing along your ideas
for improving CCMGA to me or any board member.

Ken Kerner, President, 2005

SALESMEN NEEDED

Nobody sells better than a satisfied customer. And we need everybody
in that category to put out the good word on CCMGA.

Our annual membership fee of $70 is a bargain. And we have no dues
or assessments.

We have a variety of monthly tournaments. Formats give all handicap
levels a shot at winning something. For weekly action try the RAZZ on
Thursdays and Saturdays
.
Other benefits include:
*Membership in the Arizona Golf Association which gives you an official
USGA handicap and a free quarterly golf magazine.
*A quarterly CCMGA newsletter
*Access to our website, ccmga.net, where you will find tournament results
and applications, member’s directory, member’s forum, international golf
news and links to other golf websites.
*An annual banquet at no extra cost.
*The fellowship of golfers with like interests.

AND WHEN ASKED ABOUT OUR HOME COURSE…

You can note that improvements are on the way. New electric
carts and range balls are scheduled for 2005.

Superintendent Bob Lytle is “optimistic” that new methane gas
extraction wells in certain areas of the course will encourage
better grass growth this spring. Overall, Parks and Rec. has
finally recognized the need to upgrade all city courses, and
other items on Cave Creek’s “wish list” could come this year.

We are also fortunate to have excellent relations with the Cave
Creek staff. It’s the kind of support and cooperation any association
needs to be successful. If you don’t believe it, talk to golfers who
have belonged to groups that have less than ideal relations with
their pro shops.

NEEDY, WINNERS IN CHRISTMAS RAZZ

Who says golfers don’t have hearts?

Led by RAZZ Manager Dick “Angel” Higgins, participants in the
Christmas RAZZ contributed enough food to fill Jim Denmark’s
pickup truck along with $60 in cash. All was delivered to the
Westside Food Bank in time for use during the holiday season.

Thanks to every player who cared and shared with those in need.

UNPLAYABLE LIES

If you pick up a golfer and hold it close to your ear, like a conch
shell, and listen, you will hear an alibi.
Fred Beck

E-MAIL ADDRESSES NEEDED

Those of you who receive CCMGA communications by E-mail can
help us further reduce postage costs. Just ask any member you
know who has an E-mail address if he received the newsletter by
E-mail. If not, please ask him to send his name and E-mail address
to ogbadger@aol.com.

Thanks.

FIRST QUARTER TOURNAMENTS

Jan. 15, Sat. – Individual Stroke Play
Feb. 12, Sat. – Two-man Aggregate
Mar. 12/13, Sat.-Sun. Eclectic

OUR SUPPORT APPRECIATED

On behalf of the entire Cave Creek staff, we have received words of
thanks from Diane, Mike, Bob and Rico for our patronage,
contributions to course improvements and volunteer services in 2004

FILL’EM UP

Bob Lytle reminds us that winter play will be more enjoyable if we
fill all our divots with sand. Better yet, don’t make a divot with a
practice swing.

Happy New Year to all, and to all, good golfing…
