COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS WELCOME
Committee work is not limited to board members, and it's a good way
to get better acquainted with the various functions of our organization.
To sign on for full or part time duty, just buttonhole the chairman of
the committee of your choice.
CCMGA TO SPONSOR RAZZ
Effective Thursday, January 8, 2004 the RAZZ will again be a CCMGA event.
We're pleased that Dick Higgins will continue as RAZZ manager under the
terms of an agreement with the board. He will report to the RAZZ
Committee Chairman, Ron Boothby.
The move was made to benefit all participants by giving Dick access to
CCMGA's resources in terms of record keeping, results reporting, score
posting, and event promotion.
Diane Escobedo also has offered the services of her staff in keeping a sign
up sheet, answering member's questions about the RAZZ and providing
backup help if necessary.
Dick and the RAZZ Committee are looking forward to making this traditional
weekly event better than ever.

PASS THE WORD
CCMGA has a lot to offer. But we need to get the word out, and no
one does that better than you can.
For starters our membership fee of $70 is a bargain considering the cost of
golf today. And there are no dues and no assessments.
In addition to the opportunity to play for prizes in the weekly RAZZ, and
monthly tournaments with a variety of formats, you also get…
*Membership in the Arizona Golf Association which gives you an official
USGA handicap and a free quarterly golf magazine.
*The fellowship of golfers with like interests.
*A quarterly CCMGA newsletter.
*Access to our website, ccmga.net, where you will find tournament results
and applications, member's directory, member's forum, international golf
news and links to other golf websites.
*An annual banquet at no extra cost..
MEMBERSHIP COMMUNICATIONS
Postage costs being what they are, we will continue to mail printed
newsletters quarterly. If you have access to our website, ccmga.net, you
can help with our postage costs by putting your name and E-mail
address on our website Directory. You will then be able to receive
our newsletters in your E-mailbox. Nearly 100 members are on the
Directory now, and we would like to see that list grow in 2004. We
will also continue to put our newsletters on our website along with
periodic News Updates. At Cave Creek look for CCMGA news on the
glass enclosed bulletin board in the Grill and the bulletin board soon
to be installed in the hallway outside the pro shop. Tournament entry
forms are available on our website and in the CCMGA box in the pro shop.
SPARE THEM TREES
Course Superintendent, Bob Lytle, reminds us that we get a drop from
staked trees. And he notes that putting sand in fairway divots can help
make the course more playable for everyone. If you have suggestions
for course improvements, or questions about course maintenance,
Bob will be happy to hear from you at bob.lytle@phoenix.gov.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL AND TO ALL, GREAT GOLFING AND
GOOD FELLOWSHIP IN 2004.
